PS could not resist this.
The Moonrakers Gliding and Soaring Club was part of the RAF Gliding and Soaring Association and based at RAF Upavon in Wiltshire when I flew with them. I am putting some of my memories of a great Club where others may find them, and perhaps add to building a picture of what flying there was like in the early 1960's.

ReplyDeleteHi Chris, I have a blog to add to the Moonrakers site if you'll allow me. Here's the beginning to see if you want it.
Delete"The story of a flight down the Cheddar Gorge, and other tales"
My purpose in writing this account is to entertain by, maybe, reminding past members of the
“Moonrakers Gliding Club” of various little odds and ends odds and ends from those days. I hope it gives some a little pleasure. I have certainly enjoyed writing it and conjuring up the memories. If I have made any mistakes please be kind.
